Revision desk

Every fix in one place, worked in passes

Revision notes usually end up scattered across margins, emails and memory. The revision desk gathers them — each tied to its passage — and lets you work the book in deliberate passes.

No AI involved The desk organises tasks you and your readers create. It doesn't use AI on its own; findings from an AI scan arrive only if you've run one.

What you get

Revision desk, in detail

  • Tasks from your own comments, reader comments, continuity findings and retcon rehearsals
  • Each task opens the exact passage it refers to
  • Revision passes: name a pass — timeline, dialogue, line edit — and tick off scenes as you review them
  • See which scenes each pass has covered, and what's left, at a glance
  • A re-entry card that shows where you stopped, the note you left and what's next

How it works

In practice

  1. Collect

“Add to revision desk” appears on comments, reader notes and continuity findings. Add your own tasks too.

  2. Work the tasks

Open a task, make the change in your own words, mark it done or drop it. The passage is one click away.

  3. Read in passes

Start a pass with a focus — the timeline, say — and mark each scene as reviewed. Structure first, sentences last.

  4. Come back easily

The re-entry card greets you with your last scene, your note and the next task.

Where we draw the line

What it never does

  • Make a change for you
  • Mark a task done because the text changed — only you decide
  • Nag you with reminders you didn't set

These follow from our commitments. The studio never writes, suggests or rewrites your prose, anywhere.

Questions writers ask

What is a revision pass?

A read-through with one focus — the timeline, a character's voice, a line edit. You mark scenes as reviewed (with a note if you like), so you always know how far the pass has got.

What does the re-entry card show?

Where you stopped and when, the note you left for yourself if any, and what's waiting on the desk.

Try revision desk on your own draft

Import your draft from Word, Scrivener, RTF, EPUB or Markdown, or start on a blank page. The 14-day trial needs no card, and your book is exportable from the first word.
