Pick a theme to see a sample spread set in its style. In the studio you'll see your own chapters the same way, and switching themes never touches your manuscript.

What you can do

From draft to book-shaped book

Editions

Keep a print edition, an ebook and a submission copy of the same manuscript, each with its own theme and front and back matter.

EPUB and PDF

Preview the ebook in a phone, tablet or e-reader frame, export an EPUB, or open the print view and save a print-ready PDF from your browser's print dialog.

Plain files, always

DOCX and TXT exports are untouched by design, so your editor or formatter gets a clean manuscript whenever you need one.

Honest limits

When to use a dedicated formatter

Our themes are made for clean, attractive books and reading copies. If you need fine control over trim sizes, complex images or every typographic detail of a print edition, a dedicated formatter will serve you better — and the studio's DOCX export hands it a clean manuscript. Read the comparison with Atticus and Vellum. Always preview an exported file, and check each store's requirements before you publish.

Import your draft from Word, Scrivener, RTF, EPUB or Markdown, or start on a blank page. The 14-day trial needs no card, and your book is exportable from the first word.
