Corkboard & notes
Room for the ideas that aren't scenes yet
Some thinking doesn't fit a chapter list. The corkboard is a free canvas for cards, connections and half-formed ideas; notes keep research and fragments beside the manuscript instead of in another app.
No AI involved The corkboard and notes are yours alone. Nothing on them is sent to an AI provider.
What you get
Corkboard & notes, in detail
- As many boards as you like — one for clues, one for a subplot, one for the ending
- Cards you can place anywhere on a free canvas and connect
- Bring real scenes and story-bible entries onto the board
- Notes in folders, inside the book, next to the manuscript — pin the ones you need most
- Every card can be moved with the keyboard as well as by dragging
How it works
In practice
Dump it out
Add cards as fast as the ideas come. They don't have to be scenes, and they don't have to be in order.
Connect
Draw lines between cards to show cause, suspicion or a clue's path. Pin the scenes where each one pays off.
Promote when ready
When a card becomes a scene, create it and link the two. The idea and the writing stay connected.
Where we draw the line
What it never does
- Turn a tentative idea into canon automatically
- Hide a note somewhere you can't export it
- Make you use a canvas if a list suits you better
These follow from our commitments. The studio never writes, suggests or rewrites your prose, anywhere.

Questions writers ask
Do corkboard cards change my manuscript?
No. Cards are notes. Pinned scenes and entries are links to the real records, so opening one takes you to the scene or entry itself.
Are notes included in exports?
Notes travel in the complete project archive. Manuscript exports (DOCX, EPUB, PDF) contain only the book.
Try corkboard & notes on your own draft
Import your draft from Word, Scrivener, RTF, EPUB or Markdown, or start on a blank page. The 14-day trial needs no card, and your book is exportable from the first word.
